Funds2Orgs started with a single shoe. In December of 2004, Wayne Elsey watched the destruction of the 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami. It motivated him to take action. He left the shoe manufacturing business and established one of the largest multi-million dollar nonprofits in the U.S. He led efforts to ship over 20 million shoes to people affected by natural disasters worldwide, such as Hurricane Katrina and the 2010 earthquake in Haiti. While under his leadership, he grew the organization’s budget to exceed $70 million.
In 2013, he established Funds2Orgs to help groups in the U.S. with fundraising and make a global impact with micro-entrepreneurs he had met along the way. Wayne decided to create a social enterprise allowing organizations and people to raise funds by collecting gently worn, used and new shoes. Funds2Orgs and its associated brands Sneakers4Funds, Cash4Shooz, and Shoes With Heart, also support climate and sustainability efforts by repurposing shoes and sneakers, helping micro-entrepreneurs in developing nations, and creating jobs in the U.S. for American workers.
Their team at Funds2Orgs believes in endless possibilities. They believe that we can support organizations here at home with shoe drive fundraisers, while helping the environment, AND giving a hand-up to micro-entrepreneurs in developing nations. They are a global social enterprise with headquarters in Florida, micro-enterprise partners in 26 countries worldwide, and marketing specialists located in the U.S. and Europe. The founder of our company, Wayne Elsey, is considered one of the top global social philanthropists.
