I purchased the long stairstep tailpiece for my D'Angelico EXS-1DH to replace the original stairstep, which had broken at the pivot point owing to either a manufacturing error or excessive stress on the huge strings. The component that screws to the guitar had only one screw line up, so I had to drill two holes in the instrument to put the tailpiece in its original location. The D'Angelico website no longer lists an EXS-1DH.

Although the order took a few days to process, it was dispatched fast. Ordered on a Sunday, sent on a Friday, and delivered on a Monday. Very carefully wrapped, with several complimentary picks and a sticker. Parts were of high quality.

I have no objections to the transaction, but you must retrain your system to understand that apparel is exempt from sales tax in New Jersey. I purchased a t-shirt and was charged tax.

On an EXL-1, I had to repair a tailpiece that had failed. They should not fail at the hinge and the metal should not crack due to string pressure. Because this was a secondhand instrument, I had to pay $100 for it. But at the very least, they sent a spare! Excellent work.

My second acoustic D'Ang Premier.

My second acoustic D'Ang Premier. String height and neck straightness are insufficient. There's too much noise at the 9th fret with three of the largest strings. Adjusting the truss rods will not make it ideal. However, the tone and loudness of the instrument are excellent.
