Why ShopperChecked exists
Buying from a company you've never used before is a gamble. Will the order arrive? Does the service do what it promises? Will anyone answer if something goes wrong? ShopperChecked lets you hear from people who have already been that company's customers, before you hand over your money.
Since 2017
ShopperChecked launched in 2017. Since then, shoppers have reviewed more than 14,000 online shops, services and local businesses here. On many of those pages you'll also find a rating, pros and cons written by our own team. In 2026 we moved the site to a new platform, so reviews are easier to check and businesses can answer them more easily.
How we handle reviews
- Checked before they appear. Software screens each review first, and a person reads anything it flags. See how reviews are checked.
- Honest criticism stays. No business can pay to have a genuine bad review removed. What it can do is reply publicly under the review.
- Ratings can't be bought. A business's rating and its place in our rankings come only from its reviews. Paid plans don't change them.
How the site is paid for
Reading and writing reviews costs nothing, and claiming a business page is free too. We earn money in two ways. Businesses pay for optional tools, such as review invitations, extra website widgets, insights and team accounts. Businesses can also buy a sponsored listing at the top of a category or city list. That listing is always labelled "Sponsored" and never changes the business's rating or its place in the ranking below.
Open about our rules
Our review rules are public. We record every moderation decision with who made it and why, and anyone can appeal a removal. Search engines and AI assistants are welcome to read the site, so when someone asks whether a company is reliable, the answer can come from its customers instead of its advertising.
How you can help
Review the companies you've actually dealt with, both the good ones and the disappointing ones, and report anything that looks fake. If you own a business, claim your page and reply to what customers say. ShopperChecked works best when shoppers and businesses both take part.
